5kms in 40 mins

Hi all,

Hope you are doing well...

I failed to hit the gym for three times this week, but today morning I got back and clocked 5kms in 40 mins... 1.5 kms was @ 9-10 kmph and rest was a brisk walk @ 6-7 kmph... now I want to increase the ratio of running to walking...

Now, we are going to meet our old friends... over a lunch today... I can eat well without guilt today I hope :)

Cheers !

A kilometer more...

Hi there,

I inched a km more yesterday with 4kms in 33 mins... though most of it was a brisk walk... now I intend to hit 5kms of pure running may be at 9-10 kmph speed... then move on to the next level...

Rain Gods have been kind to shower us with the much needed respite from the soaring temperatures... all 20 million people of Mumbai have been praying for the rains for the last fortnight...

First step taken :)

Hey there !

Thanks a lot for your encouraging comments, I really appreciate it...

The good news is that I have successfully taken the first steps today morning... 3kms on the mill in 23 mins is nothing less than a decent start as per my gym instructor... though continuity is the key to success in this game...

By the weigh-scale am 78kgs today, atleast 8 kgs more than what I can possibly carry for 21kms un-interrupted... but the good part is the Mango season is on the verge, hence shedding kilos wont be too difficult... my intent is to hit the mill atleast 3 times a week as of now, then gradually take it to 6 times a week...

Let's see how it goes from here, will keep posting...

Cheers !

Maverick

PS. Fresh Aam-ras (Mango-juice) is kept in the fridge, my dinner treat for the good start today :) :)

Life begins at 30 !

Hello World !!!

This is my first post... not sure how it goes but I want to write... I want to share...

Its a hot and humid friday morning and my boss is not in office... the mice is always happy when the cat is not around :)

I wanted to be an Air Force pilot but ended up being a Manager in an MNC, no regrets but the longing to cruise at super-sonic speeds in the limit-less sky is still very much alive. I will leave my job even today if the IAF agrees to induct me :) but its not gonna happen in this life... may be next time... I am a firm believer in "Re-birth"...

This November am going to be 30 and I have made a promise to my wife that I will run the Mumbai half-marathon in January next year... well the preparations are yet to begin... waiting for some monsoon showers to cool down the ambience... Palm Beach road is otherwise a beautiful place to practice but its still too hot...

My wife thinks that heat is just an excuse hence I will start using the treadmill for the time being starting tomorrow morning :) . Even she needs to shed some kgs but dare I propose that, she will stop cooking altogether and my plight will be even worse.

Will let you know if I took the first step tomorrow morning or not... enjoy the weekend...

God Bless !
